Daybook — Licence
=================

Copyright (c) 2026 the Daybook author. All rights reserved.

Daybook is source-available, not open source.

These terms cover the Daybook application itself — index.html, about.html,
style.css, script.js, sw.js, manifest.webmanifest, icon.svg, icons/, the
contents of test/ and tools/, and this file. They do NOT cover the bundled
third-party components, which keep their own licences and are unaffected by
anything here:

fonts/ Fraunces, Inter, IBM Plex Mono
SIL Open Font License 1.1 — see fonts/LICENSE
  vendor/ SheetJS Community Edition
            Apache License 2.0 — see vendor/LICENSE

Nothing in this licence removes or restricts any right you have under those.

WHAT YOU MAY DO

1. Use Daybook free of charge, for personal or internal purposes — through the
hosted site, or by running your own copy on your own machine or server.

2. Keep and modify copies for your own use.

WHAT REQUIRES CREDIT

3. If you publish, host publicly, or otherwise distribute Daybook or a modified
   version of it, you must:

   a. keep this licence and the copyright notice above intact;

   b. give visible credit to Daybook — naming it and linking to the original —
on the page itself or on a clearly reachable "about" or "credits" page; and

   c. state plainly that your version is modified, if you changed anything.

WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO

4. Sell Daybook, or charge for access to it, without written permission.

5. Present it as your own work, or remove the credit required by clause 3.

6. Use the name "Daybook" for a modified version in a way likely to suggest it
   is the original.

CONTRIBUTIONS

7. Daybook is free to use, and intended to stay that way. If it is useful to
you, a voluntary contribution is appreciated but never expected. A
contribution is a gift, not a purchase: it buys no additional rights, no
support, no guarantee of future development, and no warranty.

NO WARRANTY, NO LIABILITY

8. Daybook is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or
implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability,
fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Daybook shows you your own records. It is not financial, accounting, or tax
advice, and it does not check your figures for you.

10. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any
claim, damages, or other liability arising out of or in connection with
Daybook or its use — including, for the avoidance of doubt, loss of data.

Your data is held only by your own browser, and browsers can and do clear
such storage. Keeping your own backups is your responsibility.
